Building Futures Pre-Apprenticeship Project

This project is structured to provide students the opportunity to experience multiple trades within the Building & Construction industry over a course of the school year.  These experiences and knowledge gained will assist students to make a career choices that are right for them within the industry as well as developing their work readiness skills.

No of Participants:

20 Students state-wide across 5 schools

Aims of the Project:

To provide a new entry level pathway into an apprenticeship/traineeship within the Building & Construction industry.

Provide an opportunity for students considering a career in the Building & construction industry to experience multiple trades which will assist them in making an informed career choice.

Students who have a goal to enter into an apprenticeship/traineeship are well informed of the tasks, training requirements and employer expectations in their career of choice.

Students gain the knowledge of the Industry work expectations in regard to work readiness including language, literacy, and numeracy levels, WHS knowledge, and practical skills.

  • Electrical
  • Joinery
  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Glazing
  • Metal Fabrication
Building Futures Project Pilot  is part of the Multi Industry Schools Based and Pre Apprenticeship support pilot that is supported by the Australian Government Department of Education and Training.
